1. Intro Call
Let’s start simple: We’ll take more time to talk about what’s on your mind, understand your current situation, and answer your top questions. If your needs align with our expertise, we’ll continue exploring the process.
If it turns out we’re not the right match, we’ll do our best to connect you with someone who can help.

2. Discovery Meeting
Before we meet, you’ll have a bit of light homework. We’ll ask you to bring a few basic financial documents to help get a detailed understanding of your financial picture.
But this meeting isn’t about the numbers—it’s about you. We’ll focus almost entirely on what matters most to you: your values, goals, relationships, and the purpose behind it all. Understanding these things helps us build a plan that’s not just financially sound, but truly meaningful to you.
(Psst: Between now and our next meeting, we’ll have lots of homework too! This is the part where we get down to business modeling your current retirement plans, running projections, and building a list of action items to present during our Strategy Session.)

3. Strategy Session
With an understanding of your current path, we’ll confirm if you’re on track or if anything needs to shift to help you achieve your goals. You’ll receive a comprehensive package of our findings, observations, and recommendations, including a review of and recommended improvements for your investments, tax return, estate plan, insurance, and Social Security.
Our goal here is to help you move forward with purpose and peace of mind, while staying on track in the long run.

4. Mutual Commitment Meeting
The most important step? Sleep on it. We’ll be providing you with lots of information to digest and consider, and this is a decision that shouldn’t be rushed. The next time we meet (usually about a week after the Strategy Session), we’ll dive deeper into what our relationship would look like moving forward.
If you’re comfortable and confident in your decision to work with our team, we’ll have everything ready to get the ball rolling so that you can retire confidently with a plan that focuses on maximizing your income and reducing your tax bill – all while enjoying your retirement and leaving the legacy you want.

Have More Questions?
Do we meet in person or online?
We have a beautiful and welcoming office located in Ventura, California. You are always invited to join us for meetings in-person if you’re able. We do serve many clients over the phone and virtually across the country as well. We’re happy to do whatever works best for you.
What are your fees?
We charge the same percentage fee on assets we manage depending on how much or little the household invests. Our fee percentage decreases as assets under management grow. We strive to keep pricing transparent and aligned with the value we provide.
How many clients do you have?
We currently serve around 150 households (as of 11/30/25), which we believe enables us to provide high-quality personalized service. In an industry where some advisors may work with significantly more clients, we’ve intentionally structured our practice to remain accessible and attentive.
Can you help with taxes in retirement?
Yes, our goal is to reduce your lifetime tax bill, which is often your largest expense in retirement. We will help you plan your withdrawals to be more tax-efficient, project your future tax liability, and look for opportunities to preserve more of your wealth, whether it’s through Roth conversions or strategic, tax-deductible giving. Throughout all of this, it’s crucial that we partner with your accountant for maximum impact.
Why not just manage it myself?
Many of our clients did for years. But as retirement gets closer, the stakes are higher—and having a partner to help with taxes, income, and timing often leads to better outcomes (and fewer surprises). You’re smart and, with enough time and energy, it’s possible you could manage it all on your own. But our clients choose to spend their most precious resource (time) elsewhere and delegating this to an experienced professional.
What makes us different?
We specialize in helping investors like you navigate the journey to and through retirement. In addition, we serve as fiduciaries, meaning we work in your best interest. By intentionally limiting how many new families we work with, we can offer our clients deeper relationships and proactive planning—not sales pitches.
